Paul Shivers, PE
Senior Project Manager (Wilmington Office)
Professional/Personal Mantra or Motto
Who Dares Wins.
In my profession, I am most fulfilled when...
the project is complete, in service, and providing the originally intended purpose.
What personal or professional activities/involvement are you most passionate about?
Personal: History is my happy place. Since 2006, I've had the pleasure of volunteering my engineering services to assist several local historical sites.
Professional: I am passionate about involvement in NSPE & PENC as a way to help promote and protect the engineering profession. Without engineers, our world would be a very different place.
When I'm not working, I enjoy...
studying history. I have a deep desire to study the interaction of people and nations of the past to help better understand who we are today. I also enjoy fly fishing for whatever fish will take a fly.
Where did you receive your education?
The Georgia Institute of Technology!
What is something about you that might surprise most people?
I almost decided to attend the United States Naval Academy and pursue a career as a naval officer instead of attending Georgia Tech to become an engineer.
I'm known around the office for...
adjusting the thermostat as low as possible before others start turning blue.
What is your Spirit Animal?
Flying Fish, sometimes I like to be in the water and sometimes I like to be above it.
